The Buy Local Program is a KDCCI initiative designed to encourage residents, businesses and organisations to spend locally and support the long-term strength of the Karratha economy.

By making it easier to purchase and redeem local gift cards through the Why Leave Town platform, the program helps keep money circulating within the region, supports local jobs and increases visibility for participating local businesses.

The program builds on the success of the previous Try Local initiative and provides a simple way for individuals, employers and community supporters to choose local when giving gifts, rewarding staff, thanking clients or supporting local events.

With the support of our funding partners, Buy Local helps strengthen local enterprise, encourage community participation and contribute to a more resilient Pilbara economy.

Registering for the Buy Local Program is fast, easy and free. Participating merchants can accept Buy Local gift cards, increase visibility and connect with customers who want to support local.

Businesses and organisations can also support the program by using Buy Local gift cards for client gifts, employee rewards, recognition programs, events and promotions.
